In April 2004, I left my job at a homeless shelter; I was three weeks away from my due date with my first child and I knew that I would no longer be able to fulfill the hours the job required. Temporarily setting my passion aside I prepared to move on to a new territory...
A self proclaimed "bargainista" I spent most of the first years tuning my Internet shopping skills. My new mantra was "if I can't make money, maybe I can find a way to save money." After 1200 transactions (buying and selling) on eBay, hundreds of coupons and countless hours reading blogs, price shopping and researching, I decided it was time to put my newly acquired skills to the test.
As my plan began to unfold, I had an "ah-ha" moment. What if I gathered a bunch of my mom's friends and took all the designer loot to someone's house for a trunk show? It was at that moment that Trunk Show Moms was born. At that point I was only selling children's clothes but as time went on I began to expand my business to include all designer consignment items.
After 10,000 transactions on eBay, a new name (TSM Consignment), a new website and a new office, we are one of the few "full service" consignment stores online. We pride ourselves on one stop consigning, impeccable customer service and detailed research and marketing. No more appointments at four locations to sell your women’s designer dress, your men’s upscale jacket, your child’s dress coat and the high-end candlesticks that have been sitting in the box since your wedding.
